What Is an Akashic Records Reading? (And How Online Readings Work from the Philippines)

Kumusta! I'm Sofia, and Kunwento comes from kuwento, the Filipino word for story. I grew up in the Philippines, Kunwento started there, and these days I live in Bexhill-on-Sea on the south coast of England. A lot of my readings still go back home, over a video call, to clients in the Philippines.

If you've seen "Akashic Records" pop up on your feed and wondered what on earth it actually means, or whether it can work through a laptop screen, this one's for you.

What are the Akashic Records?

The Akashic Records are often described as "a compendium of all universal events, thoughts, words, emotions and intent ever to have occurred in the past, present or future, in terms of all entities and life forms."

That's a mouthful, so here's how I explain it at the table: think of it as your soul's library. Every chapter you've lived is on the shelves, including the ones you keep re-reading without meaning to. A reading is a chance to pull a few of those books down and have a proper look.

What it isn't is fortune-telling. I won't tell you who you'll marry or when you'll get promoted. Kunwento isn't about predicting your life; it's about helping you understand it, so you can make your own choices. Rewrite your narrative, not have someone else write it for you.

What actually happens in a reading?

I lay out card spreads and read your Records, then we talk through what comes up. The cards are visual prompts. They help bring your story to life so we're not just staring at each other while I talk.

Most people come with something that keeps happening: the same kind of relationship, the same wobble at work, the same feeling they can't quite name. Together we look at those cycles, where they might come from and what could help you now.

There are a few ways in:

• Past Life Reading (includes soul contracts). Your soul's past lifetimes, the soul contracts you made and the karmic cycles you might still be carrying.
• Angelic Guidance. Direct, often eye-opening insight on the specific life cycles you're in right now.
• Oracle Reading. The possibilities open to you, and what could help you work through your cycles.
• Full Akashic Guidance. All three together, in three spreads covering past, present and future guidance.

You can also bring a focus: soul contracts, a karmic or love connection, career and abundance, or one burning question for the Records.

How online readings work from the Philippines

This is the bit people ask me about most, so let me keep it simple.

It's a video call. Online readings are on Google Meet. You join from your phone or laptop, wherever you are. Your bedroom, your desk on your lunch break, your tita's sofa: wherever you can get a bit of quiet.

You can keep your camera off. Honestly, some people relax more that way, and the reading works just the same.

You can record it. Things come up quickly in a session, so it's nice to have something to go back to later.

Mind the time difference. The Philippines is 7 hours ahead of the UK in summer and 8 hours ahead in winter. A morning slot in England is an afternoon or evening slot for you, which often works out nicely after work.

Prices are in GBP. You'll see the price in pounds when you book, and payment is taken upfront through the booking page.

If you're reading this from home and wondering whether the distance makes a difference, it doesn't. The Records aren't on UK time or Philippine time, and the conversation feels just as close over a screen.

Why I still read for home

Kunwento began in the Philippines, in coaching sessions, readings and healing circles. Where I grew up, storytelling is how we remember and how we get through things, and a lot of our spirituality sits quietly inside everyday habits. A small moment that stayed with me: in 2021 I was on Siargao when Typhoon Odette hit, and while we sheltered from the storm I swapped Akashic readings for meals with the people around me. It reminded me that this work is really about connection.

How to prepare (without overthinking it)

• Jot down one or two questions. Open ones work best: "What's the lesson in this?" rather than "Will it happen?"
• Find a quiet-ish spot with decent Wi-Fi and a charger nearby.
• Come as you are. You don't need to know anything about the Akashic Records, and you don't need any particular beliefs. I'll explain as we go.
• Keep a notebook handy if you like writing things down as we go.

FAQs

Can I book from the Philippines? Yes. I read online for clients in the Philippines as well as across the UK. Prices are in GBP.

30 or 60 minutes? 30 minutes covers one spread and suits one clear question. 60 minutes is Full Akashic Guidance, for when there's a lot going on.

Will you tell me my future? No. A reading is for reflection and understanding, not prediction.

Is an online reading different from in person? No. It's the same reading and the same depth, so just choose whichever feels more comfortable for you.

Is this religious? No. You don't need any particular beliefs to book.
